Backpackers are scamming the residents of Brisbane by pretending to be professional locksmiths, causing harm and theft to people in the area. As licensed locksmiths, we have a responsibility to spread awareness about locksmith scams in and around Brisbane.
To verify the legitimacy of the locksmith you have contacted, we recommend you ask them for an official form of identification issued by the State of Queensland. If they’re unable to present a Queensland ID card, do NOT trust them! It means they’re not a registered locksmith and are trying to scam you.
If you think the person is scamming you, we suggest you take a clear photo of the individual, showing their face and/or their vehicle’s license plate number. This way, you can easily report the person to the police and identify them in the event you fall victim to a scam.
Protect yourself against potential scams by following our recommended precautions. For further assistance, contact DG Locksmith today.
